Winchester CTC wins national award

Winchester CTC has won the Best Cycling Group category at Cycling UK’s Volunteer Awards for "Going the Extra Mile".

The award is a recognition of the range of rides that we offer and our “army of volunteers” (90 in total). Cycling UK regards us as a “shining example of a thriving Cycling UK Member Group”

Steve Cherry, one of our active group coordinators, travelled to London to receive the award. .

I should like to thank all those volunteers who make Winchester CTC what it is today. They do a fantastic job and all deserve a pat on the back. I should also like to extend my thanks to our loyal riders who do so much to make our rides so enjoyable.

To view the trophy, see the attachment. In additin, we plan to display copies of the certificate at various locations around the City, including bike shops.

Well done to everyone!
