Medium-paced/Faster-paced rides on Sunday (starting from KAS)

The Sunday rides are aimed the more experienced cyclist and usually start at 8.30 am or 9 am depending upon the time of year. They are either ½ day or full day.

There are 2 and sometimes 3 groups:

  • medium-paced group averaging between 11 – 13 mph
  • medium + group at least twice a month averaging between 14 – 15 mph
  • faster group averaging 15 – 17 mph.

The groups usually ride to a coffee stop and the ½ day groups then return to Winchester.

The ½ day option gets back into Winchester by lunchtime and the faster group will have ridden about 45 – 55 miles and the medium-paced group about 35 – 45 miles.

For those seeking a full day ride, a ride continues at a medium-pace to a lunch destination and gets back into Winchester between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm depending upon whether we stop for tea. The full day option is about 65 miles – 85 miles depending upon the time of year.

Medium-paced/Faster-paced Rides on Wednesday evenings (starting from KAS)

From April to September we run our popular evening rides which are also aimed at the more experienced cyclist.

For these rides we split into Medium-paced (11 - 13 mph) and Faster (15 - 17 mph) groups. There is an optional pub stop for a drink and/or food, or riding straight back to Winchester. If the latter, the rides get back to Winchester 9-9.30 pm and if the former by 10.30 pm. The distance ridden by the medium-paced group is about 25-30 miles and the Faster group will ride several miles extra. Whichever group you pick, lights are essential on these rides.
