Cycle Winchester

Under 20 miles (32 km)

Routes shorter than 20 miles

Alresford easy ride, 20 miles

A Saturday easy ride. The map shows a stop at the Swan Hotel, but several other cafes and pubs are available in Alresford. The railway station, Caracoli and the Watercress Cafe are popular. The Watercress Cafe has room to park a few bikes in its courtyard, but be careful not to block the route to the show repair shop if it's open.

Farley Mount and Crawley, 18 miles

Starts at the Winchester Hotel. Out of Winchester and along Sarum Road, through Farley Mount and Ashley, then right through Up Somborne and Crawley. Coffee stop at the Good Life Garden Centre in Kings Worthy on the way back to Winchester.

Twyford via Hursley, 17 miles

Starts with some climbing out of Winchester and on Sarum Road to the Crabwood Crossroads. After that it's fairly easy going. Returns to town via the Viaduct Path through the Water Meadows. Some stretches of busier road through Hursley and from Colden Common to Twyford. Coffee stop at Bean Below cafe behind the village store in Twyford (or at Brambridge Garden Centre, or pubs in Hursley).
