Cycle Winchester

The Late Season ride this year is a beautiful, 60-mile route which follows some perhaps lesser-known roads to the village of Aldermaston adjacent to the Kennet and Avon Canal. On the way back the route passes through the old Roman town of Silchester (Calleva Atrebatum) where sections of the Roman wall can be seen.

Out: From Kings Worthy to Hunton, Overton, Hannington, Axmansford, Aldermaston village, Aldermaston Wharf (28 miles)

Coffee/Lunch Stop: Hillier Garden Centre Aldermaston RG7 4LD or Tearooms Aldermaston Wharf RG7 4JS adjacent to the canal. Both of these are at about the halfway point on the route. If you wish a second stop on the way back, the café at Popham Airfield is open until 4pm.

Back: Aldermaston Wharf, Silchester, Little London, Oakley, North Waltham, Micheldever, Kings Worthy (30 miles)
